Your Sadaqa Food Bank Resource Center

The growing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic is an important public health matter, and one that the Sadaqa Food Bank is taking seriously. We are committed to doing all we can to protect our volunteers while continuing service to the greater community of Ottawa.

In response we are taking the following precautions:

- We remain open but are moving to an emergency service hamper model effective IMMEDIATELY.

- Increasing our on-site hygiene, particularly in high-traffic areas.

- Staggering client visits to allow more distancing.

- Asking volunteers and the general public who have traveled or who are feeling unwell to not visit our premises.

- Recommending that any volunteers that have underlying health conditions or are immune-compromised please refrain from volunteering.

- Encouraging staff, volunteers, and visitors are to wash their hands frequently.

- Continuing to assess and working to implement additional health and safety measures for volunteers, clients and staff.

It has been noticed that there has been an increase in the number of families needing food assistance within the past month. Based on this projection we have added a second location to supply the greater Ottawa Community and to give families a more convenient location to access emergency food supplies.

The details are as follows:

Hall of Peace Youth Centre

Address: 241 Northwestern Ave. Ottawa, ON K1Y 0M1

Hours of Operation: Saturday and Sunday between 1pm - 5pm
